Criminal Defense

In South Carolina, there are two main types of courts that hear criminal cases – Magistrate and General Sessions. As a general rule, Magistrate Courts hear cases where the potential penalty is 30 days or less and General Sessions Court is for more serious offenses.

Associate Attorney Tara Marie Schultz is a skilled criminal defense lawyer with several years of experience as a public defender. Tara can help you at all stages of the criminal justice process, no matter what your charges are:

  • Property crimes, such as shoplifting and injury to property
  • Drug offenses
  • Thefts
  • Burglaries
  • Robberies
  • Aggravated assaults
  • Criminal sexual conduct
  • Manslaughter/murder
If you or a loved one is arrested, anything you say or do will be held against you. It is very important to have a lawyer by your side from the very beginning to make sure your rights are protected. The Khaled Law Firm will candidly assess the evidence the state may have against you, conduct any necessary investigation on your behalf, discuss any possible defenses and help you make an informed decision on how best to resolve your charges.
