Before receiving her license to practice law in South Carolina, Julia spent almost two decades as a Licensed Social Worker practicing in a variety of settings and serving many diverse populations. Her experience includes front line work with the foster care system, executive management, corporate training, and risk management with a nationally based company.
Julia’s passion for helping people manage age-related changes extends beyond her clinical and field experience. She has traveled the elder care continuum with both parents as well as other family members. These experiences, along with her twenty years of helping others as an elder care attorney, have given her tremendous empathy for individuals and families facing the prospect of a long-term illness of an aging loved one.

Over her career as an attorney, she has worked from the trunk of her car, at her office, in homes with clients, at the emergency room with clients, in facilities… a true multitude of places it takes to truly build a relationship based law firm where you will not be another face. You will be like family. Julia takes time to get to know you as individuals, to learn about your life and values, and work closely with you through an ongoing relationship to ensure your personal and financial goals are met as you face and respond to every challenge caused by chronic illness or disability.
Julia and her husband, Ben, have three children: Joseph, Ava Grace, and Jacob. They live in Rock Hill, are members of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and enjoy spending time together as a family, most especially camping, traveling our country through both the main roads and the back roads.
Julia has contributed her leadership skills to professional. civic, and religious organizations both on a local and national level. She is a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). She regularly gives dozens of presentations to local community groups, active adult communities, churches, and many other groups. Julia has represented the Sixteenth judicial Circuit as a member of the House of Delegates for the South Carolina Bar, which establishes policy for the bar. In addition to serving on boards, she donates her time to various non-profit groups in York County. Her targeted and advanced continuing education as well as her collegial involvement ensures the most sophisticated planning techniques are always available to the firm's clients.
